Introduction

The LHC has been running very successfully at a 7 TeV center-of-mass energy. Many interesting results have been obtained. With continued running and eventually reaching 14 TeV, interesting new physics, expected as well as unexpected, are highly anticipated by both experimentalists and theorists. LHC physics will be one of the most important fields in particle physics in the next couple of decades. At the same time many new experiments searching for dark matter are also in place; interesting results are anticipated as well. The interplay of LHC and dark matter physics researches become highly nontrivial, and sophisticated methods are needed to be mastered in order to perform such studies. The LHC focus group, established in 2009, is trying to build up close working relationships among our experimental colleagues and theorists, and also to train young researchers and students to work more productively in the frontiers of LHC and dark matter physics. The focus group had organized several successful mini-workshops in recent years. To continue and enlarge our efforts, we are organizing this workshop. The workshop will have review lectures and talks on LHC and dark matter physics.
